The Oshkosh United Elite program is for 13U through 18U soccer players looking for the most challenging soccer experience Oshkosh United has to offer. Oshkosh United has higher expectations for elite team players which reflect the commitment needed to experience success at a high level. Elite team players typically excel at the high school level and some elite team players have the opportunity to play at the college level.
When a Select team finishes in first place in the East Central league they can apply to play in the WI Youth Soccer Association "State League" to get the opportunity to play more competitive teams. The WYSA State League has multiple divisions, typically including the First Division and the Premier Division. Teams that finish near the top of the First Dvision are promoted to the Premier League and teams that finish at the top of the Premier League are eligible to apply to play in the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League. All of our Elite teams participate in the WI Youth Soccer State League or the US Youth Soccer Midwest Regional League.
Elite teams at Oshkosh United have professional coaches that have been licensed by the WI Youth Soccer Association. We strive to have all of our Elite coaches attain a D license or higher. Our coaches are guided and receive ongoing coaching education from our coaching directors:
The soccer year runs from August 1st through July 31st. A player's "soccer age" is determined by the year they were born. Check out the age eligibility chart (link to the right) to check what age level your child would compete at. Players tryout in June for the following season. The evaluation staff makes every effort to place all players that attend tryouts on a team. Players are evaluated through a variety of different methods before being placed on a team. Current players are evaluated by their team coach and then compared to new players by the coaching directors and other tryout evaluation staff (not affiliated with the age group team).
Elite players at the 13U and 14U age group are expected to play both fall and spring seasons. Both the fall and spring seasons have games on the weekends. Elite teams have access to coach provided winter training in the off-season (January - March). Players are expected to attend off-season training unless they are participating in another activity/sport.
All teams attend tournaments to provide additional soccer experiences. Teams will typically play one tournament during the fall season and three tournaments in the spring season. One of the spring tournaments will be our own "Oshkosh on the Water" soccer tournament. Elite teams may attend tournaments out of state or showcase tournaments to get additional competition.
Oshkosh United has excellent coaching and board leadership that is constantly striving to improve our programs. Check out the links to the right to find out more information!
