***COVID-19 Tryout Update***

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, WI Youth Soccer (WYSA) has delayed the tryout process. It is our hope that we will still be able to hold an in-person tryout later in the summer. Currently, WI Youth Soccer has selected July 13th as the first date of when tryouts can occur and July 21st at noon as when offers to play can be sent out to players.

WYSA is currently working on return to play protocols that will provide some guidance to clubs on how they can provide the safest experience possible. Once we receive those protocols we will create a tryout schedule which will be added to the website and sent out to anyone that has registered for tryouts. In the event that we are not able to safely hold in-person tryouts, WYSA has a system in place in which we can send an offer to our current players anytime after May 15th. If a player that is not currently playing for United wanted to join the club, we could still send an offer to play but it would have to be on July 21st at noon.

Once we get updated information from WSYA, we will communicate what the tryout schedule is or how we will conduct tryouts virtually. For the time being, you can register for tryouts below and any updates will be sent to everyone that has registered in addition to being added to the website. The tryout fee is $25 up until the last day of June and then on July 1st the tryout fee will increase to $30. We encourage families to register for tryouts as early as possible so we can plan accordingly. If you have any questions, feel free to email

Oshkosh United holds tryouts in early June for the select (11U and older) teams. The "soccer year" runs from August 1st to July 31st so the June tryouts are for the following year. Players that will only play in the spring still need to tryout during the June tryouts. The WI Youth Soccer Association and our league, East Central Soccer, determine the window of when we are able to hold tryouts. One of our core values is to provide the opportunity for an excellent soccer experience to as many players as possible. At United we make every effort to place all players that attend tryouts on a team. If we don't have enough open spots to place players we can work with families to try to find another club with an open spot. To further highlight our commitment to find a roster spot for each player, players not offered a roster spot will have their tryout fee refunded.

General Information

  • Players are placed on teams by birth year. All players are expected to attend the tryout for their birth year unless they have made prior arrangements with the coaching directors. Players are not allowed to play up unless special circumstances are involved. Click here for our playing up policy. The birth year age eligibility chart can be found at the bottom of this page.
  • Our league has multiple competition level options including Classic 1, Classic 2 and sometimes Classic 3. If possible, we will form multiple teams per age level and place the teams in a competition appropriate division to ensure the players have a developmentally appropriate and enjoyable experience.
  • All age groups will have two tryout days. The activities will be different on each day so players should attend both dates.
  • There is a $25 tryout fee which must be paid which processes your player into the system.
  • If you have any tryout related questions, please email

Can't Make Tryouts?

The best case scenario is for a player to be evaluated next to the players they are competing with for team placement. While not ideal, if a player was unable to attend the regularly scheduled tryout times  in June they have a few options:

  • Attend a training session of an Oshkosh United team - email if you need to set this option up.
  • Schedule an individual tryout in which a member of the Oshkosh United coaching staff will visit a practice or game to conduct the tryout.  The cost for this process is $50.  However, if a staff coach attends the game and the player rarely touches the ball the evaluator will not have much to comment on so this option should be one of last resort. Email if you need to schedule an individual tryout.

Please make every attempt to attend the regularly scheduled tryout times.

**All WI Youth Soccer Association clubs utilize the same registration program, Demosphere. When you click to register you will be taken to the Oshkosh United component of the state's registration system. The registration system will have you create an account that will be used when registering for any soccer program for any child (so keep that log-in information).
